Nigerian Killed In India Over Argument About Biafra
A 33-year-old Nigerian man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Geddalahalli on Hennur Road in India in the early hours of Monday, with reports saying that he may have been killed by some Nigerians over there as a result of a disagreement over the quest for Biafra.
The brother of the victim, identified as N. Chigozie, said he may have been murdered as his body was found dead near the Railway bridge at Geddalahalli, with head injuries around 2am while his motorcycle had skidded off the road.
It is understood that the 33-year-old man came to India with a student visa, while Indian police in Bengaluru are already probing his death.
His body has been shifted to Ambedkar hospital for autopsy. While Kothanur police, based on his brother’s statement, have registered a murder case, reports the Times of India.
However, BangaloreMirror reports that on Sunday evening, the victim, along with his brother Nanso, partied with a group of friends at a house in Byrathi.
During the party, it is alleged that the brothers and their friends had an argument over political developments in their country including Biafra. Police said both the brothers were allegedly beaten up.
